- 2 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 large eggs

- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
For the Brown Butter Frosting:
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Batter
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Add the mashed bananas and mix well.
Sift in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir until just combined (do not overmix).
Step 2: Bake the Brownies
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly.
Step 3: Make the Brown Butter Frosting
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and continue cooking until it turns golden brown and smells nutty.
Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
Step 4: Assemble & Serve
Pour the frosting over the slightly warm brownies and spread evenly.
Let it set for about 10 minutes, then slice into squares and serve.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add ½ teaspoon cinnamon or chopped nuts to the batter.
- Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
- For a chocolate twist, add ¼ cup cocoa powder to the batter.
